The Homeless of New York City Wish You All a Happy Holiday!

During the International Women's Day in 2005 Hanne Lise Thomsen showed a project at the harbour in Copenhagen. The project included projecting several portraits of women on a industrial building near a busy metro station. In December 2005 Hanne repeated the concept on Manhattan in New York City. This time she projected a large number of portraits of homeless people from Manhattan together with the statement: "The homeless of New York wish you all a happy holiday”. Hence the project used a time of year that should be about something more than Christmas shopping, in order to highlight the social injustice in New York City.
